Location and Area
The five bridges to be replaced or rehabilitated were constructed approximately 70 years ago and are located along a one-mile, elevated stretch of the Cross Bronx Expressway (CBE), extending from Boston Road on the west to Rosedale Avenue on the east.
This elevated section of the CBE spans over West Farms Road, Sheridan Boulevard, the Bronx River, the MTA West Farms Bus Depot, the Amtrak/CSX railroads, a concrete plant, Bronx River Avenue, and Bronx River Parkway.

Anticipated Timeline
The anticipated timeline above indicates that the project’s environmental assessment was initiated in September 2024. Construction on the bridges is expected to begin in the spring of 2026 following a robust public engagement process.
