  1. Research the limo operator's performance and make sure they have proper insurance and operating authority.
  2. When the limo arrives, ask to see the driver's commercial license.
  3. Look for a valid diamond-shaped inspection sticker on the windshield so you know there have been regular safety checks.
  4. Identify all potential emergency exits upon entering the vehicle, including doors, windows, sunroof, and the driver's compartment.
  5. Locate the required window break tool and be aware that it can be used in the event of an emergency if you cannot exit through normal means. Ask the driver to explain how the tool is used.
  6. Locate the required fire extinguisher.
  7. Locate your seatbelt and check to see that it is working properly before the trip begins. The law requires that all passengers wear a seatbelt at all times.
  8. Ask the driver of any questions that you have.
  9. If you have concerns about your driver's behavior, and the situation is dangerous and currently occurring, call 911.
